UK company director facing a winding-up threat from my former accountants over a £3,000 invoice. I don’t dispute the debt in principle but: The service (filing of 2 years accounts) was not completed They disengaged without offering a structured payment plan & suddenly demanded payment in full. where as payment used to be £200 a month. In addition an unexpected £1,000 invoice was raised after disengagement. They handed these invoices to debt collectors, i paid £1,000 and offered to clear the balance in 4 - 6 weeks but the debt collectors didn't agree. So I paid £1,000 on the spot. My company is solvent and trading, with clear receivables and only incured temporary cash flow issues largely contributed by these accountants. I believe this may be an abuse of process and insolvency law under Rule 7.5(1) of the Insolvency Rules 2016.
